Smug pups.

It's funny how some people think they're so smart that they think they can get away with almost anything. It's funnier when people assume that everyone else around them is stupid. I mean, I know because I've been there. Not on the former side, the latter.

And these people are extremely smug too. They'll be right around you, almost all the time, except when the people they actually care about appear in the room. They vanish from your presence then. They make you feel like they're completely trustworthy and good until the moment you actually need them. When you actually need them, they'll be like "I'm sorry, who are you again?", they won't literally say these words, but everything about them will tell them. And boy when they need you, they'll just follow you like a lost puppy trying to find it's mother. They'll be completely full of praise for you and the moment they get their job done out of you, they do what they do best, vanish. They have their expertise in capitalizing on people's vulnerability and trashing them using the same, when needed. They also carry decent expertise in the art of making you feel bad about who you are as a person and your life's choices that you've made at various stages of your life. And oh yeah. they talk. A lot. So much that any news that you share with them privately is basically news that you're sharing with the rest of the world.

If you have these people in your life, observe them really carefully. Make note of all of their actions towards you and towards other people. Watch and learn for they are very good teachers of how to not be towards people. They are the people you don't ever want to become. They are the people you eventually want to run away from. They are the people you want to make sure you don't get associated with. And if you did get associated with them coincidentally well, escape. Because they will hurt you. And you don't deserve that. Think it through.
