Agreeing to Disagree.
One of my least favourite things to do is arguing. Constantly trying to one up each other, fighting to show our superiority, or prove their inferiority, making a point out of someone else's misfortune, capitalizing on someone else's weakness and just about anything along these lines is something I try my best to refrain from doing.
Hello there, I am the Earthian.
For two reasons specifically though, I try to run as far as possible away from an argumentative situation. One, I feel like as humans, we are always entitled to our opinions on any and every last thing that exists on this planet. It is otherwise known as freedom of expression. And there is absolutely just no point in trying to make someone turn against themselves with whatever arrow we have at our disposal, in the form of arguments. As humans, we form our opinions based on how we look at things, based on who brought us up, based on who we mingle with on a daily basis, based on who we find to be influential, based on who we look up to, based on who we look down at, based on our own little experiences in life and most of all, based on what we think is right, in life. There is absolutely no way, anyone is going to accept their defeat just because someone else thinks that they have a different set of opinions that they try to thrust on someone else, solely because they believe their opinions are superior to what everyone else's opinions are. It just isn't going to happen.
And for the second reason, I like the fact that people are decisive about what their opinions are. I don't want to waste my time and their time by arguing. It is okay to be who we are, it is okay for us to believe in whatever we believe in, as long as we aren't hurting anyone by being ourselves. It's a different story when someone get's hurt which I'll cover on a different day. But I like the individuality. There just isn't an obvious right answer, when it comes to opinions.
The bottom line is that I can only make my point to the world. I can only paint my own picture. A picture that represents my side of the story. My story, simply. I can tell my story and hope that people consider it. And it is completely okay for everyone else to hate on my story. If that's how it is, there really isn't anything I can do about it. The negativity that an argument brings and builds is so not worth the time we put into it. Agreeing to disagree is just so much easier. Nobody wins, nobody loses either. It is what it is.
With love, peace.
