It is indeed true that a lot of people today are self-employed. There are several reasons for people choosing to be self-employed, some of the reasons include but are not limited to people being completely dissatisfied with their jobs and their salaries, the job hierarchies that they have to go through to get into better positions within the organizations, stressful work environments, poor man management by their employers, unsatisfactory benefits, lack of freedom to work individually, lack of freedom to express thoughts and opinions, improper co-worker behaviour and most importantly, a cap and limitation to their growth and potential. People take up jobs right after their education assuming jobs will help them find their best in themselves and instead they get let down by the system, a system that protects the employers more than it does the employees. Especially in countries like India where employers very often get away with underpaying their employees. It is only natural to want to gravitate towards a more sustainable job for their careers which oftentimes are careers they create for themselves. There are huge benefits for self-employed people, the sky is literally their limits and they get to decide how valuable they are. Oftentimes, companies and employers decide the salary and the pay for their employees which is a huge turnoff, especially when the salaries are non-negotiable.

With more and more people wanting to realize their potentials, they’ve also worked out that working at a company the traditional way and climbing through the corporate ladder is really unnecessary and in a lot of ways silly, when they can improve their skills and just work on their own to give themselves the satisfaction they’ve always longed for. There are demerits too, working on our own, like the lack of job security and the variable nature of our income but these can also be looked at as challenges and opportunities. We can always work hard and get to where we want to get to. Believe and you can achieve.
