A Fairy Tale.
I have always been told to do a lot of things without ever proper reasons. A lot of things, they tell me that if I do all of those things well, I'd have a very good life ahead in the future. It all always sounded like a very sweet fairy tale "work hard and struggle today so you'll have a better tomorrow". Could it get sweeter than that?
And I'm pretty sure it isn't just me who's heard this beautiful tale.
Hello there, the dude who calls himself "The Earthian" here.
The thing with that though is that the future never seems to come. I mean, there's never a better tomorrow, it always is, at best, only as good as today and even that is pretty rare. Don't get me wrong, tomorrows can be better, just not in the way this fairy tale promotes it to be.
But why do we need this fairy tale in the first place though?
I get it, it's a way to motivate, promote positivity and it comes from a very good place. It also just happens to come from a very scared place and it also just happens to be motivation and positivity based on lies. It's a promise that cannot necessarily be kept. It's a good way to pave way for heartbreaks for when people find and figure things out (and they do, always) that they've been lied to, it's tragic.
Some thing about reality always seems to scare us. Those "what if?"s and those moments of doubt always seem to crumble us. And something about being not a failure, something about being not a loser, something about being "secure" in a very low profile way seems soothing. Soothes away the fear and pushes us into doing mindless and pointless deeds that we know are dead ends. Struggle for a living, basically.
More on this really soon.
Love, peace.
