Culture?

Its a shame that sometimes we stick to traditions just because we think we have to and just because of the fact that we think we'll lose pride and more than that, we'll lose our face in our society if we don't.

Preservation of culture is so very different than what we think it to be, assume it to be. Cultures can't be preserved by force. We can't just stick to whatever we have been following for ages just because we think that's the right thing to do. It just isn't going to work. And I get it, I get why people want to preserve their cultures. I get the emotion, I get the sentiment behind it and I get the fact that it is important. But while something is important to us, it just doesn't need to be important for anyone else. And coming to peace with this is going to be hard. Our belief and our faith in our cultures is so strong that it blinds us from truths. Cold truths. Like when we believe so much in some thing, there is every potential for us to lose the few loved ones we have, that is we are lucky enough to have a few in the first place. And we actually would believe losing them over cultural differences is worth it for we are such strong believers. But you think about it. Think and decide if this is worth it.
