We don't get to decide how we impact others' life, we only get to decide what we offer, we only get to offer the virtues we choose to, we only get to decide what we do.

What people make of it is up to them, and therefore we can only hope for the best. That's not to say you should be mindless about your actions. It is indeed a tricky spot to be in. Simply putting, you don't have to choose your actions based on how you'll be interpreted unless you really have the motivation to make people feel a certain way about you. As long as you are yourself there's always a possibility of being misinterpreted. You either decide you're going to go on a never-ending mission that is surely going to be in vain or you chuck it all and be yourself. The right ones will stay.
