That Kid.
You know that kid in your class that you know exists but that’s all you
really know about him? You know, that kid who doesn’t really talk as much as
you’d expect him to, as much as you would even want him to? You know that kid
you know looks different, acts different, does things differently, so
differently that you find yourself tempted to call him dorky? You know that
kid who doesn’t really look like he has a story to tell but something tells you
that he indeed does have a story, perhaps a story too good for anyone to listen
to? You know that kid who just is always gloomy but is surprisingly good at
hiding his gloomy side? You know that kid who always sits in the corner of the
room because he doesn’t want any more attention than what he receives in that
corner? You know that kid who doesn’t talk much and almost never is the one to
initiate a conversation but when you talk to him he talks to you with
absolutely nothing to hide? You know that kid who you never really have wanted
to know about until you’ve had your first words with him? You know that kid who
you never cease to wonder about because of your very first words with him? You
know that kid who has so much to say but never says any of what he wants to say
because he just knows nobody in this whole world would understand a
thing or a word that he does or says? You know that kid who isolates himself
voluntarily because that’s what is best for him or so he believes? You know that kid who you know is capable and good enough to be your best friend but you
doubt if you can be the same or even do the same for him? You know that kid
whom you are sure would understand every single one of your problems but you
aren’t sure if you could do the same for him even though you know he probably
wouldn’t expect you to do so? You know that kid you are always curious about
but you also know that he probably doesn’t feel the same way about you because
he just is so lost in his own little universe? That beautiful kid? No? Don’t
know him? Ah, how I wish I could take you to him.
