Her Side.

She walked away with the sole intention of letting him go and let him get the better things that she thought he was destined for. She walked away, never turned back, not because she hated him or she didn't want to turn back. In fact, she wanted to run back to him with each step she took away from him. She walked away slowly at first and then jolted away. She did turn back a couple of times, but she couldn't set her gaze on him for too long a period. Too many memories were made between the two and she just couldn't handle it for every time she looked behind and saw him, a memory got triggered and she slowed down.

Eventually, she had gotten far away enough. She could safely turn around now for all he was from where she was was a dot. A mere dot that was barely visible. She could finally turn around and look at him all day long and then all night long without having the inner urge to slowly walk towards him again. She was so far away from him that even if she wanted to turn back and go to him, she couldn't. A part of her rejoiced, he finally could get everything that he deserved, which is nothing short of the very best. At least that's what she thought he deserved, the very best. She finally felt like she wasn't a drag any more. She finally felt she had freed him. She could finally breathe at ease, knowing she had done the right thing.
She still had all the memories though. Everything from their first smile at each other, their first conversations with each other, their first text messages to each other, their first phone calls, their first emails, their first picture, their first meal together, their first movie together, their first fights too, their first harsh words at each other and just about everything else they ended up doing to each other. She scrapped out all of the negative feelings. Threw away everything that even remotely resembled a quarrel and she polished all of the good memories, those memories that brought a happy tear to her eyes when she remembered them and thought of them. Because those were the memories she wanted to hold on to. Those were the memories that reminded her of how beautiful a soul he really was. And that's how she wanted to remember him. As the beautiful soul that he was, that he probably is now too.

This was her side.
