Opinions.
It's very easy, almost one of the easiest things to do, to just stay in the periphery of people's lives and comment about them without ever really even trying to make an attempt to know the facts. That's where this comes from, this article. If you don't want to read the complete article, read this; opinions are the least valuable words you can mouth. And that's not my opinion, that's a fact.
Hello there, I'm 'the Earthian'. Feel free to borrow the name and choose to not give or give credit, I'm happy you even want to identify yourself as one.
That's not me taking a jibe on people with heavy opinions or me slating all those who make a living off of opinions, good for them. However, opinions have their time and they certainly have their place and their value will always be lesser than a fact. Always. No matter how many people have the same opinion, no matter how famous and powerful those with opinions are, a fact will beat it, all day, every day. Keep in mind, your opinions will only be as valuable as anyone else's and when you choose to believe yours are superior to others' you're basically contradicting yourself. I'm not by any means asking you to keep your opinions to yourself, voice them out, do what you want with them, just don't get carried away.
Love, peace.
This reminds me a bit of the quote, "history is written by the victors". Facts aren't what is true, it is what you make people believe. Enough people believe it, and it becomes fact. It's not that people do not understand the difference between fact and opinion (although some people really can't), it's that people aren't an open vessel, they can't absorb and sift through infinite knowledge; they can only make their decisions in what to believe in based on what information is presented to them in their lives. And because you can only choose to believe in one thing, sometimes people choose wrongly. And that's ok. What's not ok is rejecting valid evidence of the contrary. That is not ok.
ReplyDeleteI don't understand what you mean when you say "Facts aren't what's true, they are what you make people believe". The earth being imperfectly spherical is a fact. Choosing to believe the Earth is flat just because they can, while brave, isn't ideally helping them. Unless, they believe in living in their own lie. One doesn't have to believe in facts, one has to accept them. What one chooses to believe in are Beliefs. Facts are always what's true.
