Discipline.
Achieving a goal you set for yourself largely comes down to discipline. You can lose enthusiasm, you can lose motivation, you can lose even your interest as the adversities get bigger and bigger, but if you are disciplined enough to stay in the lane, if you are discplined enough to respect your decision of achieving something, if you are disciplined enough to keep pushing through despite the adversities, you'll have done enough at some point.
Hello there, I'm the lad who hops around here under the alias 'the Earthian'. Feel free to borrow the name, you're welcome.
Granted, you will not have done the same work you would have had you been motivated, enthusiastic and interested, but it is still work and that counts, no matter what you might have been told. No judge is going to look at how motivated you are and how much perseverance you're willing to show and award you points based on that, in a contest of any sort. You will only be judged for the work you do and if you are disciplined enough to put in that effort that can fetch you success even if you would rather not do it and aren't interested in it, you will score the deserving point, period. Being motivated, having heart, showing endurance and perseverance are all additional factors that can help you go farther, but it firstly and largely comes down to discipline. Ponder.
Love, peace.
