Random Act of Kindness.
You know how we all make mistakes? Well, some of us do it more often than the others, but nevertheless, we all make mistakes, we all have made out fair share of mistakes and we all will for sure make mistakes in the future.
Hello there, I am the Earthian.
I am no different; I have made countless mistakes, some of them I repent for, others not so much. And today, I thought I'd share one of my silliest mistakes and how that silly mistake of mine led me to meet an amazing soul who helped me when I needed the most.
So what happened was I was done with my classes for the day and I started my way to my home. I walked to the bus-stop and was waiting for a bus and there came one. As I boarded, there came this fatigued woman hurrying to catch the bus too. She fortunately did and I helped her with her luggage (she was carrying a couple of heavy bags and a backpack which also seemed heavy). She thanked me, and took a seat alongside me. The conductor came our way and was fidgeting with the ticket generating machine, indicating us to get our tickets. Now, I usually am the guy to carry enough change with me so as to not get into unnecessary fixes. But that day, I was the guy who was missing a small portion of what the ticket's actual price. As I kind of started to get vexed, this woman noticed me, and before I could utter a single word, she lent a helping hand. While I was embarrassed with myself, I found myself being heartily grateful for this woman who helped me. We probably will never meet again, but the memory will last a lifetime, surely, maybe not for her, but for me.
Now this in itself might not sound like a big deal to anyone who reads this. But what we need to understand is the fact that she needn't have done what she did to me. She could have given me the same weirdly hurtful look everyone else gave me and could have made me feel bad about myself like the rest of the co-passengers. She didn't think twice and paid for me instantly and made me feel like it was all okay. And it was all okay.
Point is sometimes, most of the times, assuming the moral high-ground and making someone feel more guilty about a mistake they already are guilty of isn't the proudest thing you are capable of doing. In fact, it is the easiest thing to do, getting into the 'herd-mentality'. When someone around you feels like they are in a hostile situation, help them out of it. Make them feel at home or at the least, try. A smile made is worth a lot more than, well, a frown made.
Lots of love, peace.
