"Where do you stand on Politics?"
I sometimes get asked where I stand politically, which parties I like and which gets my vote. And my answer to these questions never change, I don't get involved in politics is what I always tell them. And sometimes, when I tell people that, they come back at me and tell me that because I don't have a political opinion, I lose my right to criticize the government. "How can you criticize the government when you don't even care?" And somehow, me not having a political agenda always gets linked with my patriotism. I get called a nonpatriot. They tell I don't care about the country and the people. And it's all outrightly silly because none of them are even factually correct, in any way, shape or form. It also somehow turns into a personal assault against me, they start name-calling me and insulting me with outlandish language and that makes me wonder "wait, you're abusing me because you think I don't care about people? What are you doing to me then, if you care about people? Am I not a part of 'people'? Is this how you care about people, by abusing them? Or do you only care about them when their agendas resonate with yours?". Things get sensitive when politics gets involved and I quite honestly believe politics is not an aspect I'd ever be interested in. I care about what I care about, and that'll only change if I want to change it.
Love, peace.
