I think it's always important to rise to the occasion. There is no excuse for you to not be giving your best in everything you do. Anything less than your best in anything you do is almost equivalent to you commiting a crime. Obviously, it's not literal, what I said there, but think about it. Why do you do even  do things if you're not giving your best in it? You might as well not do it at all, you're not obviously going to get your best result without you giving your best. Remember, no matter what you do in your life, no matter how hard or easy what you're doing is, give your best. Or don't do it at all. You'll waste your time and your energy. And neither of them are worth waiting your time for. You need to be efficient and proficient with anything you do and you do need to always give your best, in everything you do. Only your best.
