Objectification.
We've come to a point in life where objectifying is synonymous to identifying. Men objectify women and women objectify men. Sometimes it happens within the same gender. I wonder what good comes off of this anyway. Why do it?
Hello there, I'm the Earthian.
Is it normal to do it? I hope not.Is it ethical? Not a chance. Is it morally justifiable? No way.
I know it sounds really corny, but would you actually dare to objectify someone you really love? A family member, perhaps? Would you go ahead and use the exact same terms to refer your own sister or mother or father or brother or your best friend? If your answer is no (I'm really hoping for the best here) what makes you want to do it on a stranger? What drives you? What permits you? What is your motive behind objectifying a person you do not know? I really am looking for an answer here.
The only answer I keep getting is that it is socially just accepted. It just is what people do is what I'm told. It shouldn't be what people do though. And you and I both know that. What really, really gets to me is objectifying is supposed to be a compliment. People actually think they are complimenting us, when they use rude words to describe how we basically look and that is supposed to make us feel good.
I could keep going on, but this will get way too long. Let's continue with this soon.
Lots of love, peace.
