Absolute statements vs Relative statements.

So, what's absolute? And what's relative? It's simple. When you decide something's or someone's quality for you and everyone around you and everyone in the whole world, you're making an absolute statement. But when you only say that you like or dislike something or someone, you're making a statement that concerns only you. This is a relative statement.

Hello there, I'm the Earthian.

The important point to note here is that people may not agree with you and your relative statement. And that's okay too. Because the moment you say something relative, it can very well mean different things for different people.

The issue arises when a lot of people agree with a relative statement and try and make it generic. Because when we do that, we are pulling away the right of someone who may not necessarily support or like that statement, and forcing them a single relative opinion which just happens to be popular.
So, let's make something very, very clear. A crime will be a crime, irrespective of the fact that a million people do it. When we try and get away with excuses like "What I did was so petty and small!", We are making an absolute statement a relative one. Absolutes are universal. Relatives, no matter how big the radius of it is, will always differ from people to people, person to person. Generalizing your opinion can very well get you into lots of trouble. Careful.

Hope you can take away something from that. Lots of love, peace.
