Our Emotions.
There are days when I just feel the need to cry. Cry not because I feel sad or I feel down. Cry, because it feels good to do so. It feels relieving, it feels satisfying, it feels good, to share that emotion too. Because that's what it is, an emotion.
Hello there, the Earthian here. Let us all be Earthians together!
And I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels that way. But most of us don't do it, because it is an emotion associated with being sad or being weak. Growing up, I was always told, you're a boy, boy's don't cry. Now, feminists may find that offensive. But to me, it's always been like why do they get to cry and we don't?
Not just this, laughter is associated with happiness, aggression with anger/rage and so many more just like them.
At the end of the day, what we start believing is that we need to express those emotions only when we experience a certain situation or only when we feel those moods. And to add to this, we think we only need to express those emotions when the society says so. Because otherwise we'd be called names and made to feel bad.
Everything we do revolves around how the society percieves us. Every emotion we feel revolves around how the society justifies that emotion. Because not even for a second do we want the society to think we are weak. It's a shame we do that though, because every tear we embrace makes us stronger because we accept ourselves for who we are.
Lots of love, peace.
