A Brand New Start.
So, it's a brand new year. An exciting time to be alive. Because, when we decide to do some changes to ourselves, our habits, our routines, at this time of the year, it actually feels like a brand new start for some reason. We are more likely to remember this change that we make for the rest of our lives because we made it on a brand new year.
Hello there, I am the Earthian.
And many of us do try and make changes. We try to lose fat, procrastinate less and what not. We start out with the greatest of motivations ans work our way to either keep it up or totally lose it all. Some of us want to change but do not want others to notice our change because we feel embarrassed about it for some reason. Some of us start what we start for all the wrong reasons and when we realized it, we terminate it. Some of us over-prepare and do lots of research about the activity we decided to do and end up never doing it because we realized that the activity is way too demanding for us. And some of us just belong to the category of "New Year, New Me" which sounds pretty cliché, but if it works, well, it works.
Most of us choose what we choose because, basically we just don't have enough motivation in our lives. We procrastinate, postpone the activities that we allegedly love doing but never do because we don't find the right time. We look for reasons to be motivated, reasons to get the enthusiasm because we live in a period where most of us have better relationships with our smartphones than we have with our own selves. We are all about doing what's easy and not doing what's actually worthwhile. Because what's worthwhile demands dedication, determination, die-hard attitude and am unquenchable thirst. And it already sounds hard enough. We shy away saying, well, maybe later. The motivation we have lasts shorter than an average lollipop, as harsh as it sounds. To add to this, we are surrounded with people who are actually okay with being ordinary. We are surrounded by people who actually don't know themselves. And these people somehow always seem gloriously glad.
But you and I, aren't like them, are we? Which is why I want you to stick to what you started. I want you to push yourself like you've never been pushed. It's okay if you fall too. You'll patch up and dust off and start over, because you know you want to keep pushing. I know, you'll reach there, wherever it is that you're looking to go. And you'll be glad you pushed yourself so hard.
Lots of love, peace.
