Compassion
How many of us would be willing to admit that giving away our ultimate treasure, whatever it may be, will increase its value and give us happiness?
We all get emotionally attached to worldly and materialistic things. We over-value them and hence take extreme measures to safe guard them. This is natural.
Hello again, it's The Earthian.
People only look skin deep at other people. If a well dressed person comes to us, claiming he's lost his wallet and asks you politely for some money, most of us would give. But if that exact same person is homeless, struggling and begging, most wouldn't dare to go near him. Why? How is he different?
To me, anyone who's begging deserves something. Because begging is the single most cruel thing the situations can do to a person. No one wants to beg. No one deserves to beg. I guess it's a person's bad luck. It takes a huge toll on their pride to do so. Not just beggars and homeless people. There are so many others that are struggling in their lives that have little attention on them. (Animal species, plant species included)
I often get a feeling that materials and things have overtaken the value of life in lots of humans' minds. The biggest reason I'd say for this is arrogance.
A person never truly realizes the value of lives until he loses them.
Compassion, love and friendship are rarely the traits I see in kids and adults these days. What I see most commonly is the need for self satisfaction.
Starting today, let's be unbiased and unprejudiced. Just like how trees are. It doesn't decide who gets the fruits of it. It just gives.
One good deed a day is enough.
Lots of love. Peace.
