Shine.
Sometimes (All the time, I just wanted to put it mildly), when I tell people that I like to read and write and that I want to do it for a living, people start giving me their words of wisdom.
Hello all, I'm the Earthian.
They tell me about how hard it is for someone to be a successful writer and they tell me that nine times out of ten, I'll be failing in my attempts. They tell me that even if I wanted to be a writer with all those odds, I can do it part time, whilst having a "real" job, earning some "real" money.
Okay, first of all, to all those people who said that to me, thank you for your beliefs in me, it was really motivational. Having said that, with no sarcasm intended, I'd like to say that when you have a dream, you have to be ready to protect it. You want to know why? I'll tell you why. Not only will people try to get into your mind, they will also try to make your own dreams your biggeat enemy. Yes, you probably won't be successful in your first attempt, but that is no reason to stop pursuing it any further. They'll point out your failure, in the name of "supporting" you and ultimately turn you against your own ambitions. And when you get a "real" job and you make your average money, they will make you feel like you're happy. Let me tell you, there are no "real" jobs. There are jobs that people most commonly do that gives average pay. Because most jobs are these jobs, they become "real". And when you earn that little amount everyone is earning, you start believing that you are much better off doing this and not what you actually dreamt of doing. Because money, my friend, is a game changer.
You can't blame them, because all they were doing is, looking out for you, in a certain way because they don't want you to suffer. You can blame yourself, because you have let yourself believe that you're suffering. Does that make sense?
You know what those dreams of yours are made of. You don't want to destroy them. Because they are beautiful and so are you.
Lots of love, peace.
