Excitement
I have a question for you today. And it is, why is it that we lose our excitement on something that once had our blood pumping through our veins? I mean, what is lost now, that we had then?
Hello all, The Earthian here.
Firstly, there is no single "right" answer to my question. It depends on person to person.
Having said that, let's talk about a few reasons. Imagine this situation. Let's say I like noodles. Let's say, I love noodles. Now, because of my liking towards noodles, I've started eating it on a regular basis. First I started with once a week. It was really exciting and I enjoyed it very much. I started looking forward to the time of the week when I get to eat my noodles. Soon, I started feeling like once a week just isn't enough. So, what I did was push it up a notch and started eating it twice. Twice became thrice and thrice became four whole times a week.
After a while of four months, I got so used to noodles, that I started getting bored of it. Why? Did the taste of the noodles change? Absolutely not. What changed was my taste buds. More precisely, my attitude. Because I started eating what I really enjoyed too much, I started "disliking" it. Ever heard of the modern day quote "Too much of good stuff is bad stuff."? This is exactly what that means.
So, my point is, when you enjoy something, when you consider something really precious to your heart, it is natural to want more of it. This is not wrong. Whats wrong is adhering to that voice in your mind to get what you "need" every single time. This is exactly why people lose their excitement in things they once loved doing.
Lots of love, peace.
