How smart are you?

"You're smart if you're the person who learns from your own mistake, you're smarter if you learn from the mistakes from people around you.".

Hello all, the Earthian here.

So, this is a statement that I've been hearing a lot these days from many people around me. My parents, elders that I know, my teachers and even sometimes my friends (the few that I have), tell me "Don't do the same mistake that I did, if you don't want to share my fate.".

Honestly speaking, I'm really not a big fan of that statement for a good number of reasons, let's talk about a few today.
The first reason is that the statement itself is indirectly implying to not try at all because in a convincing way, it predicts the outcome. People who are a little scared of taking risks will fall for it.
The next reason is that, the statement suggests that there is only one out come in that particular deed that you're planning on doing. And it is somewhat of a negative  outcome. Maybe this is just my view but, I think, this ain't a trivia. It's not as simple as a definite failure or success scenario. It's life. And everytime, it's a gamble. You may never get the same outcome again or you may keep getting that same outcome. If there is a ninety nine percent chance that you're going to fail, there is always that one percent chance to give you hope but most people can only see the ninety nine, mostly because they are trained to do so.  The truth is, it makes you not try at all, thereby, making you desert your dreams.

I can keep going on but, the bottom line is, learn from YOUR mistakes. Yep, yours alone will do. Because, an adventure is not one if everything that's going to happen is predicated. It barely becomes a trip. I'm an adventurer, are you?

Lots of love, peace.
