Childhood Lessons.

I remember watching cartoons with the sweetest of messages when I was I kid. These are also the cartoons I remember the most. Somehow, its always only the good lessons, the kind lessons, the tough but important morals that stick around with me in the longer run, which I am sure is the case with many others too.

Isn't it surprising though, how so many of us have been taught all of these kind and sweet messages but so few of us actually take it to the heart? And isn't it hilarious how the not so kind and sweet messages stick onto us so easily without even trying too hard? I guess, that's why good messages need to be repeated just to get through the skin. To live with integrity, honesty, pride, truthfulness, humility. respect isn't an easy joke, especially when you don't really have to have all of these attributes to survive. If cutting corners is what is easy then that's what people will do. Not because its right or wrong, but purely because its easier. And I don't blame them. Sometimes, I go back to watching those cartoons that portray humanity the way I like it, just to remind myself of where I could go and how I have been my own speed hump, if not a road block. It always makes me smile, these cartoons.
