Human
I was talking to a friend a few days ago and I was thanking them for some favour that they did for me, and for being the nice person they were. The reply they gave me caught me off guard.
Hello there, I'm the Earthian.
They told me "You don't have to thank me, I was not being nice, I was being human.".
It's not something you get to hear everyday. That phrase has a ton of meanings to it. For instance, it points out to the fact that being human is not something that prevails predominantly these days. Being hasty and money-minded does. It clearly says being nice and being human aren't two different things but the same and that it is us that has separated them into different words.
It shows how degraded we, people, have become. It pretty much sums up the differences about how humans are supposed to be and how humans really are right now, in today's generation. I mean seriously, it has come to point where people no longer take compliments from one another without raising the question "What are you selling?". Pfft.
Subtle instances like this always catches me off guard. I know it probably isn't a big deal for most, but it certainly is for me. Because it tells me that people I'd love to see in this planet, exist!
Lots of love, peace.
