I am a true believer of the thought that if you have enough conviction in yourself and your ideas, and your code of living and your morality, you truly do not have to be worried about what your opposition does for they are all absolutely irrelevant when it comes to the tasks in your hands.

Focusing on yourself is so much more than just a sign of conviction, it shows extreme mental strength, it deliberates the necessity of achieving through absolute positivity. If you can achieve your goals without ever needing to rely on the information you receive about others so that you don't also vary your efforts into your actions in life, that's when I'd say you've found your kind of success. You might not necessarily be successful in everyone else's eyes, but you, for sure, will be able to look at yourself with pride and glow with positivity. You will have all the inspiration you'll ever need in your life within you.
