My not-so-good Side.
To some, being respectful is being polite, to some being respectful is treating them like royalty, to some being respectful is paying attention to them, to some being respectful is being kind to them, to some being respectful is obeying their words. And it is a nearly endless list and all of the factors have something to do with paying proper attention to people.
Hello there, I'm 'the Earthian'.
There really isn't a way around that, no matter how much I try to find out and understand people and their definitions of respect. People just like being paid attention too, and fortunately or unfortunately, I am wired to be someone who will not, ever, pay attention to people seeking it the most. I just won't, not that I do it on purpose, but especially to those who are profoundly self-pitying and self-sympathetic, I just can't seem to find it in me to empathize with them. I would want to feel for them, but considering they're doing the feeling part very well, I just don't get myself to sharing that with them. And maybe this makes me sound like a prick, but it really is the fact.
Love, peace.
