Let's Get Real.
A valuable conversation these days is when someone just says "hello" to us and asks us how our day is going. Nothing wrong with that, I absolutely agree, but the issue is that the conversation almost always ends at that. I personally would never do such a conversation with someone because I think it is disrespectful fot the both of us and if I call that person a friend, I think it's a disrespect to the friendships itselt.
Hello there, I'm the Earthian.
I mean, as often as people say it, say "Let's get real!", the don't just get real. They like living in that plain, simple, effortless and dare I say meaningless zone of friendship that neither connects people nor just build a wall. It's like a subtle way of saying "I know you exist and I don't want be rude so here's a hello to you". That is all it is.
To say that the world needs to find a way to get together because we are too separated is an understatement. And today, the reality is friendships, heck, most relationships are in a satisfactory position when the people in the relationship acknowledge each other on social media as friends, like each others' status updates on social networks and maybe if they really felt like it, leave a comment on their content.
And the worst part about this is, it has become the norm. Everyone is okay with it! Maybe I'm exaggerating, but just maybe if we spend lesser time "connecting" with people online and spend more effort and time trying to build actual friendships we might get an actually better connection.
And that is my story of why I quit social networks.
Lots of love, peace.
