Pain.

A few things hurt a lot instantly, like when an insect stings us, we feel the wrath immediately but we forget about them as soon as the pain subsides. A few other things take their time to make us feel what it has to offer, like when we accidentally bump into something and we don't realise we've been injured until after a couple of weeks of the incident.

Hello there, I'm the Earthian.

However, the most painful things are not usually the consequences of the things we do, but the consequences of the things we don't do.
Some have even told me, and I, for a long time, believed that regret is the most painful thing, ever. Regrets of things we could have done but we just let slip off of our hands. Regrets about all the things we could have done but we didn't because we were just too afraid.
But I recently have come to realize that there is something even more painful than that. And it is having the opportunity to do something, working for something so hard, working for something you love, almost reaching it but at the last minute, you are told that you don't have that one factor which is the key to what you've been after. The pain is silencing, heartbreaking and yet filled with intense emotions. And every time you get reminded of that, you feel the pain all over again, with the exact same amount of intensity or more.

Sometimes we just aren't going to be enough for some people. We just aren't going to be enough for certain positions in life. We just aren't going to enough for what we deserved and what we earned. These are the moments that remind us to keep our emotions in check. Because while its true that we aren't enough, it's also true that we are better than the benchmarks set.

Lot's of love, peace.
