Not Personal

Never be the one more invested in any relationship. Because not only do you give up on any chance of the relationship being fair, you give yourself nothing but possibilities for disasters. You can always only do your part, so do that to the fullest, do your best and do it every single time. And when you've done that, relax and calm yourself down. No matter where you are in life, the only thing you can do is your best and when you've done that, there is no need for you to be the one who gets hurt when it's all said and done. You don't have to take the blame, you're not responsible for what happens, and you certainly don't deserve to be looked down upon or insulted when you've given your best. If your partner cheats on you, if your treated unfairly by your "superiors", if you get neglected by your loved ones, and you've given your best, there is not much you can do. That's why it helps to be not too emotionally invested. You don't deserve that. Sometimes, life just happens, and it helps to not take it personally.
